Welcome to the Defunct Airlines task force! This is a task force dedicated to the expansion of articles on defunct airlines, and most importantly listing destinations served by those defunct airlines. There is a List of defunct airlines on Wikipedia and a Defunct airlines category, but that list is incomplete, and many articles already in place about defunct airlines do not have their former destinations.

Goals

• Expand and create articles on defunct airlines, particularly regional airlines.
• Expand the List of defunct airlines article.

Scope

• All defunct airlines. An incomplete List of defunct airlines is available.

Guidelines

To include an article in this task force, add the following to its talk page: {{WikiProject Aviation|Defunct=yes}}

• All defunct airline articles should discuss a brief history of that airline, such as where it was headquartered, where it held a hub, and how it eventually folded or merged with another airline.
• All articles should have a list of destinations formerly served, and an asterisk (*) should be placed next to all airports which no longer have scheduled airline service.
• If available, we should gain pictures of past logos, timetable images, or fleet images of the airline to include in the articles.
• If available, articles should also include former fleet information, though this may be difficult to find.

We encourage all members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation to use the translation feature more often. There are many articles that can be created or expanded via translation. The Soviet Aviation Task force needs articles translated into English! Please feel free to join! The Aviation accident task force has a list of missing articles of aviation accidents and incidents that aren't covered on English Wikipedia. Missing women aviators is a small redlist of women aviators for whom we lack biographies. The defunct airlines project is now a task force of WikiProject Airlines – check it out and join today! Find images for Category:Wikipedia requested photographs of aircraft A quick reference to aviation articles that are up for discussion and deletion is available - watchlist it and use it! Wikipedia:WikiProject Aircraft/Missing articles lists over 500 articles that require creating or redirecting. Dig in! A template is available to quickly create articles. Go to Template:WPAVIATION creator and start creating!
