Template:Twitter → Template:X profile – "Twitter" is now a historical name for X, after a requested move per reliable sources overwhelmingly refer to the platform as "X". Absolutiva 23:40, 9 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Support - But make Template:Twitter a redirect as a LOT of articles use it. We don't want to risk it and break the templates across all of wikipedia.
Also, what about redirecting it to be Template:X instead? GuesanLoyalist (talk) 09:57, 15 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Is it time to change the output?

[edit]

From "on Twitter" to "on X". Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 14:32, 18 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Vpab15 (talk) 11:37, 19 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

No. If the manchild loser who bought it can't even respect his own daughter's gender identity, I think everyone should refer to his stupid website by its real, comprehensible name, i.e. Twitter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-28112-91 (talk) 16:30, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Request to change line 8 from }}] on [[X (social network)|X]]{{Edit at Wikidata to }}] on [[X (social network)|X (formerly Twitter)]]{{Edit at Wikidata to provide valid clarification for some readers who may be unfamiliar with the rebrand or expect "Twitter" to pipe X (formerly Twitter) when using the template redirect of {{Twitter}}. Alternatively, I would suggest a new parameter |alt= to display this output when set to "yes". — Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 17:48, 20 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before posting an edit request. Axolitl (talk | contribs) 14:18, 25 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ah, I should have realized this may be potentially contentious. I had presumed it may be applicable based on the earlier discussion above and my previously fulfilled request at Template talk:Cite tweet#Edit request 8 March 2026 for {{Cite tweet}}. I'll start a formal discussion in due time. Thanks, — Trailblazer101🔥 (discuss · contribs) 14:30, 25 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
