Operational?

[edit]

Hi @DannyS712! Is this template operational? I'm interested in having the bot remind me (or, even better, remind WT:GAN) about this thread in three years and every three years thereafter. The current documentation doesn't give me enough info to figure out how it works, though, and I can't manage to find instructions elsewhere. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 20:21, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Sdkb: I added documentation about how to use it (User:DannyS712/RemindMe) and it should be working, but no promises that it'll still be working in 3 years DannyS712 (talk) 20:44, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@DannyS712: Does it still work? If not, you should probably remove the link at Template:Remind. @Sdkb: It's been three years! Or four... :) CapnZapp (talk) 23:41, 28 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Functionality

[edit]

@DannyS712: I'm interested in a simple template that gives me reminders in X days, much like on Reddit etc.

I have read your documentation, but I still don't understand how to use, or even why a script is necessary in the first place.

Forgive me for asking, but how about us users simply posting {{PleaseRemindMe|60}} somewhere (anywhere) to get the bot to reply to that message (pinging me of course), wherever it is posted, in 60 days?

In your documentation you refer to posting reminders in json files... I don't know man, I would vastly prefer a simple reply with no set up, no scripts, and no nothing, except simply posting this template?

Maybe I'm underestimating some complexity here... Anyway, cheers CapnZapp (talk) 23:37, 28 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
