This template provides a link to a specified Internet Archive artist page via its permanent link.

Usage

[edit]
{{Internet Archive music|id=|name=}}

Note: The "name" parameter is optional. If omitted, the article page title would be used.

Example

[edit]
{{Internet Archive music|id=TenaciousD|name=Tenacious D}}

Live recordings by Tenacious D at the Internet Archive

Instructions

[edit]
  1. Select Browse All Artists' Collection Pages in the Live Music Archive
  2. Find the musical group you want to adapt the template for, the click the link
  3. You will then by shown the link to the collection
  4. Follow through, and (in the example of the band Tenacious D, take the URL, in this example, http://www.archive.org/details/TenaciousD, and remove the part: "http://www.archive.org/details/". You will now be left with the "id", in this example, "TenaciousD" (Note: most ids are just the band name joined together with leading letters in caps)
  5. Now place the id into the template: {{Internet Archive music|id=TenaciousD}}
  6. Save changes
  • Important note, the name parameter "{{Internet Archive music|id=|name=}}" is only required when the page name is not the exact name of the band, this is in the case of bands who share the names of other Wiki definitions. For example, Fugazi (band). In this case the name, Fugazi, is necessary.

Why don't we add the [[Category:Live Music Archive artists]] tag to this template? Addionne (talk) 13:24, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
