Not working? Probably a ChromeOS bug

Using Chrome on ChromeOS, {{emoji presentation|♈|text}} still produces the emoji form ♈︎

I don't know if it is soluble because the same issue affects {{unichar}} U+2648 ♈︎ ARIES (with U+FE0E ︎ VARIATION SELECTOR-15), so it seems to be a ChromeOS issue with these symbols in particular: {{unichar|261D|suffix=︎}} works fine, compare U+261D ☝ WHITE UP POINTING INDEX with U+261D ☝︎ WHITE UP POINTING INDEX.
