Formatting of page title

[edit]

Earlier, I noticed that on my phone, this template looks a bit off on /r/, because it gets split across two linesthe initial "/" is on one line and the "r/" after it is on the next line, which is really ugly. I tried fixing it by adding page-title={{nowrap|/r/}}, but unfortunately this broke the "internal link" link. TTWIDEE (talk) 19:44, 17 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

@TTWIDEE: I don't see that edit - or indeed anything anything recent - in the page history. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:43, 17 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Redrose64 I tried making that edit to /r/, but I didn't publish it, because when I looked at the edit preview, I saw that the "internal link" link was broken, even though it would have fixed the issue with "/r/" getting split across two lines, and I figured that the "internal link" link being broken would be worse than "/r/" being split across two lines. Try making the edit yourself (on a phone, of course) to see what I mean. (Although, I imagine you might get different results depending on the width of your phone.)
We'll probably have to edit this template in order to make it possible to change the formatting of the page title without breaking the "internal link" link. TTWIDEE (talk) 06:27, 18 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
I don't have a smartphone, and even if I did, wouldn't use it for editing Wikipedia. Threads at WP:VPT and elsewhere have shown that smart phone editing can be difficult, and often creates problems. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 06:43, 18 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
I realise that phone editing can be a pain for large edits or for when you want to change lots of complicated markup, but for simple edits like the edit I recently attempted on /r/, it's not too hard. Using a phone is beneficial in this case, because the problem I was trying to fix is a layout issue on mobile, so it's handy to have a mobile preview. TTWIDEE (talk) 06:57, 18 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Edit request 14 November 2025

[edit]

Description of suggested change:

The most recent edit to the template used the "for loop" template to simplify the coding, which was good. But besides reducing 10 instances of a template name to only 1, it also used a shortcut that now shows up as a redirect on all pages transcluding it. Please restore the full name, but otherwise keep that edit intact.

I have already tested this in the sandbox as seen here: please make this change. (In short, please change "dabcat" to "disambiguation/cat" as in the sandbox.)

Template-protected edit request on 14 February 2026

[edit]

Just like what Template:Set index article does, replace the bottom line If an internal link led you here, you may wish to change the link to point directly to the intended article. to If an internal link incorrectly led you here, you may wish to change the link to point directly to the intended article.. This adds that it should incorrectly point there instead of intentionally pointing there. FantasticWikiUser(Ts and Cs) 05:52, 14 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

I’ve made an attempt on the sandbox. FantasticWikiUser(Ts and Cs) 05:56, 14 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Category:Disambiguation pages not marked as such on Wikidata

[edit]

Hi! On it.wiki, we crated the tracking category it:Categoria:Pagine di disambiguazione senza elemento Wikidata, which contains all DABs not marked as such on Wikidata, that is, all DABs whose Wikidata item is not an instance of (subclasses of) Wikimedia disambiguation page (Q4167410). I was wondering whether such a category may also be useful on this project. Horcrux (talk) 10:03, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Normally I'd be happy to agree to what seems to be a matter of cleanup, but over time, I've observed a fair bit of ambiguity in this regard that isn't handled well: some of our disambiguation pages aren't "pure" disambiguation, rather they basically contain elements of set indices, and vice versa. But, this sort of a hybrid approach doesn't fit the strictness of exiting classes and subclasses at Wikidata. We tried to address it in 2024 with Wikipedia talk:Content assessment/Archive 9#Request for comment but it never got properly resolved. --Joy (talk) 21:14, 11 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
