Edit request to complete TfD nomination

[edit]

Template:Di-no source-notice has been listed at Templates for discussion (nomination), but it was protected, so it could not be tagged. Please add:

<noinclude>{{subst:tfm|help=off|1=File source}}</noinclude>

to the top of the page to complete the nomination. Thank you. Beyhive Navy 🐝🪖 (talk) 20:23, 12 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Template:Db-gs-notice

[edit]

Should we update general sanctions notices to include the specific requirements for editing under GS-protected topics instead of using a wikilink? Something like "You need to have at least 500 edits and 30 days worth of editing in other topics in order to edit articles related to X" for EC-restricted topics, for example. Saw someone get blocked for violating the contentious topics restriction on South Asia and thought it may be helpful, since the notification on the affected user's talk page only contained a link to Wikipedia:Extended-confirmed, which new users may find confusing and unhelpful. Change G15 section on Db-notice-multiple

Current:

* The page exhibits signs of having been generated by an AI model with no clear human review. Text produced by these applications can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia and output must be carefully checked. (See the section G15 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
"Can be unsuitable for an encyclopedia" and "output must be carefully checked" imply that AI generated content is acceptable as along as it is checked, which it's not. I recommended it be changed to the text below for the reasons above and also for parity with the template Db-llm-notice.
* The page exhibits signs of having been generated by an AI model with no clear human review. Text produced by these applications is generally prohibited in Wikipedia articles. (See the section G15 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Szxq (talk) 18:51, 20 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Remove X3 because it is obsolete and no longer apart of speedy deletion criteria. Beyoncé and Rihanna's navy 🐝🪖 23:50, 17 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

 Not done Um, I don't see X3 listed here ... * Pppery * it has begun... 16:01, 18 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
It’s under R4. Beyoncé and Rihanna's navy 🐝🪖 17:14, 18 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Oh, you're referring to the doc page. In that case,  Not done: {{edit template-protected}} is usually not required for edits to the documentation or categories of templates using a documentation subpage. Use the "edit" link at the top of the green "Template documentation" box to edit the documentation subpage. * Pppery * it has begun... 17:45, 18 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Looking for consensus on edit

[edit]

I am planning on changing "...because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view..." in Db-spam-notice, to "...because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising or promotion which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view...", however before I do that I am looking for consensus on whether this should be done.
