Simplification effort

I've started a rewording effort at {{db-llm-notice/sandbox}} to trim superfluous parts of the template and make the core message more readable. While having specific criteria is essential for admins to know when (or when not) to delete, these same specifics can be too much for a newcomer-oriented warning and might bury the important aspects (why the page is being tagged for deletion, how to contest it, where to ask for help). I'm thinking that this could also be adapted to other {{db-notice}}-derived templates (and possibly even the core template's wording), as many of them are extremely wordy and not newcomer-friendly at all. More simplification

I was looking at {{db-notice-multiple}}, which can easily be one of the most overwhelming notices in terms of length and seriousness, making for a pretty poor user onboarding experience. There is a lot of redundant wording in that template, and I am thinking of simplifying the first paragraph from:

This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. can be simplified to

Unlike the previous one, this part is common to all {{db-notice}} instances. It won't help to link a user to our whole list of policies just after they got their page tagged for speedy deletion, that's not a realistic or focused amount of reading. You'll notice that the 3 bullets are for G11, G15, and U5. G11 and G15 are correct, but U5 is a bug.

Can someone help fix the bug? A correct rendering of this template would not have the U5 bullet. Thanks!

Just remove the <!-- U5 notice --> section. U5 was repealed and doesn't work in Module:Csdcheck anymore. ~2025-31525-90 (talk) 23:44, 5 November 2025 (UTC)

Thanks all. This looks Fixed in my testing. Although it might make sense to update Module:Csdcheck or these two templates to behave a bit better if you pass an unknown CSD code to it. –Novem Linguae (talk) 02:12, 6 November 2025 (UTC)

Template:Di-no source-notice has been listed at Templates for discussion (nomination), but it was protected, so it could not be tagged. Please add:
