Most of the values do not end with full stops within the quotes. Only the 1,000 words and RSCR keys have values that end with full stops. The values are complete sentences. In a template, it can be considered poor grammar. I request that full stops be added to the rest of the values in the JSON object so the contentious topics templates have correct grammar when multiple items are selected. Z. Can someone summarize the recent changes to alert/first?
[edit]For a required notice, the changes seem suspect. It now gives a welcome message that's not always appropriate, and does not show up in the logs to check if another has already been given. What's going on? --Hipal (talk) 16:26, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, the documentation on this page hasn't been updated. There is no longer a requirement for a specific first notification. isaacl (talk) 16:46, 3 July 2026 (UTC)

A wording concern
[edit]Having just put {{Contentious topics/talk notice|apl}} on Talk:May 1915 Triple Entente declaration, the wording of it raised my eyebrow. It implies that both the 'Polish history during World War II (1933-1945)' and 'history of Jews and antisemitism in Poland during World War II (1933–45), including the Holocaust in Poland' subtopics of WP:CT/EE are subject to extended confirmed restrictions, while the wording on CT/EE indicates the ECR only applies to the latter (and checking the case, this is indeed the case). Grammar fix: In Template:Contentious topics/page restriction editnotice base, "this talk page message" is ambiguous, and certainly shouldn't refer to this editnotice. Change it to "the talk page message".
