This WikiProject banner template uses Module:WikiProject banner, a meta-template for easily creating and maintaining project banners. Please report any errors or feature requests to Module talk:WikiProject banner. Information or warnings about the template are below:
The 17 task forces and work groups will automatically collapse if more than 5 of them are displayed. To change this setting, set or update the |TF_COLLAPSE= parameter.
The 6 notes in this template will automatically collapse if more than 2 of them are activated. To change this setting, set or update the |COLLAPSED= parameter.
Automatic parameter checking is enabled and pages with invalid parameters can be found in the tracking category.
There are too many task forces to check the assessment categories for each one, so the following selection have been checked: 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 17.
The {{WikiProject Novels}} project banner template should be added (notsubst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. Transclusion also allows easy updating of all the Project's talk pages without having to edit hundreds of pages. The full syntax is as follows:
{{WikiProject Novels|importance=|auto=|attention=|needs-infobox=|incomp-infobox=|needs-infobox-cover=|peer-review=|old-peer-review=<!-- Task force tags -->|19thC-task-force=|39clues=|australian-task-force=|crime-task-force=|DOAWK-task-force=|fantasy-task-force=|harry-potter-task-force=|hdm-task-force=|lemony-snicket-task-force=|military-task-force=|narnia-task-force=|percy-jackson-task-force=|roald-dahl-task-force=|sf-task-force=|shannara-task-force=|short-story-task-force=|sword-of-truth-task-force=|twilight-task-force=<!-- Task force importance tags -->|19thC-importance=|australian-importance=|crime-importance=|fantasy-importance=|harry-potter-importance=|hdm-importance=|lemony-snicket-importance=|military-importance=|narnia-importance=|percy-jackson-importance=|roald-dahl-importance=|sf-importance=|short-story-importance=|shannara-importance=|sword-of-truth-importance=|twilight-importance=}}
importance– a rating of the article's importance; see the assessment department for more details.
listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for The Shining, use |listas=Shining, The so that the talk page will show up in the S's and not the T's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people §Ordering names in a category. If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add |listas= to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required.
auto - "yes" if the article has been automatically assessed as stub-class from the presence of stub templates in the end of the article.
attention– "yes" if the article requires immediate attention; this should be used sparingly.
needs-infobox– "yes" if the article requires a suitable "Infobox" (e.g. "Infobox Book" or "Infobox short story") adding
incomp-infobox– "yes" if the article requires a suitable "Infobox" completing
needs-infobox-cover– "yes" if the article "Infobox" requires a suitable Cover image
– or "1st" if the article "Infobox" could benefit from a suitable 1st Edition Cover image
peer-review – set |peer-review=yes if the article is currently undergoing a peer review, or to request that the peer review process for this page should be begun.
title – if the peer review page exists but is not at Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Peer review/{{SUBJECTPAGENAME}}, set this parameter; i.e. if the peer review page is Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Peer review/Foobar, set |title=Foobar
