Update

[edit]

I am translating the German page into English. I am going to replace the term "mail coach" with "stagecoach." The image on the "stagecoach" page is Swiss! I am going to leave it for now, but will update again within the next few months. Look at Brugg for proof that.

Irrelevant redirect

[edit]

The reference to the post bus in Kinlochewe has nothing to do with the Swiss postauto. Peter Horn 00:11, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

'independent subsidiary company'

[edit]

The article has previously said that PostBus Switzerland is an independent subsidiary company. It is not clear from the article whether independent here is just vague wording, or whether there is indeed some special corporate structure (for example, independent trustees) to prevent Swiss Post from using its ownership of the company to influence its decisions.

Searching the web, I can find no sign of the latter. Nor is it obvious why anybody would want to interfere with the normal privileges and responsibilities of ownership in this case. So I've assumed this is just vague wording and removed it. If I'm wrong, please reinsert, but please indicate how the independence is guaranteed, why such an arrangement was felt necessary, and cite it all. Thanks. -- chris_j_wood (talk) 09:28, 28 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Not a PostBus

[edit]

The photo captioned "A PostBus bus in Altstätten in 1984" does NOT show a post bus. This is bus #35 of Rheintalische Verkehrsbetriebe (RhV, nowadays RheintalBus). 93.194.202.204 (talk) 19:56, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

You are quite clearly right. The bus is marked "RhV" and the same image is used on the de:WP article Rheintalische Strassenbahnen, a now defunct transport company whose bus services became RheintalBus. You can simply remove the picture if you know it to be out of place, but I'll do that now..........Kelisi (talk) 18:44, 12 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

2026 Kerzers bus fire

[edit]

I have posted a new section about the 2026 Kerzers bus fire, and it strikes me that this is the only PostBus incident that the article mentions. Perhaps there should be an "Accidents and incidents" section. I'm sure that there must have been a few. Kelisi (talk) 18:29, 12 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
