The wheel driven table says Campbell holds the last wheel driven record of 403.1 in 1964.
The last 'See Also' says 'Goldenrod - The car which held the wheel-driven land speed record from 1965 to 1991'Wolstan Dixie (talk) 05:39, 11 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, you're right, very confusing. 1964-1965 was about that time that the various bodies started ratifying each other's records and also about when the record split into wheel-driven and non-wheel-driven (jets and rockets). Splitting the tables into wheel-driven up to 1964 and jets/rockets after 1963 covers most records but looks like Goldenrod got left out. Perhaps we should adjust the cut-off dates to cover it. Or at least make mention in the text that Goldenrod was among the last of the outright record holders that were wheel-driven. Stephotalk04:21, 13 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sure, a fighter jet can travel on the ground. But it is classed as an air vehicle, not a ground vehicle. Fighter jets are also not very stable across ground and rarely do a full kilometre or mile safely. They get airborne as soon as possible where bumps on the ground do not try to make the vehicle flip, skid or crash. Stephotalk04:29, 13 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
