Structure
[edit source]This article includes a large amount of duplicative material, tangents off-topic and poor structural organization. However, reading through the article I struggle to find anything in particular to cut or work on how to reorganize the article. Do any other editors have suggestions on how to work on this article? - There's another complication here in that many uses of the term "g factor" slide between two different meanings. The first is the observation that there is an observed positive correlation between mental ability tests - this is rarely disputed by theorists (perhaps Guilford is the last to do so?) and it would be proper to describe this as a "consensus view". The second is that there is a single unitary causal element "g factor" that causes these intercorrelations. This is alluded to in the section G factor (psychometrics)#Theories. I'm wondering the best way to introduce this distinction in the lead and how to discuss it in the body of the article. Katzrockso (talk) 04:12, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
- I worked on restructuring the article and moving some sections to other articles. I think this article contains too much discussion of specific theories of intelligence that belong elsewhere, but I'm not sure where yet. Katzrockso (talk) 04:52, 26 October 2025 (UTC)
