Wrongful deletion of article sections
[edit]Two sections of this article were nominated (Cachao: Uno Mas and Genius of Chang Dai-Chien) for deletion because of copyright infraction, but they are taken from the DOC Film Website, that is cited as a reference. The only issue I see here is to add the exact reference, but I don't know how to do this. in the references.
The references are: http://docfilm.sfsu.edu/productions/cachao-uno-m-s and http://docfilm.sfsu.edu/productions/chang-dai-chien-california — Preceding unsigned comment added by Efibla (talk • contribs) 02:09, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

No reply on article editing
[edit]Hello, there are a couple of notices on this article that I am waiting a reply for since a few days ago. I need this to be solved soon regardless of the decision. But no one answers this talk page. What can I do now? (Efibla (talk) 04:56, 23 January 2012 (UTC))
Copyright Issue
[edit]I am trying to edit this article but I can see that there is no reply to the copyright issue. Can I as a user erase the content and reedit everything? (KivaJames (talk) 16:25, 13 February 2012 (UTC))
- Thank you for working on this issue; I've removed a little lingering content from there and from other sections, including some material closely paraphrased from .
- In order for us to use content taken directly from the DOC Film Institute's publications, they will need to put a release on their website such as described at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:34, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
Neutrality check
[edit]Much of the language of this article does not sound neutral. Rather, it sounds like a press release or promotional material for its subject. It should be edited to maintain Wikipedia's policy of Neutral point of view. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.103.221.161 (talk) 12:25, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
I edited the entry to remove as much non neutral language as I could, but there is sill the copyright issue unresolved. When will I get a reply? (KivaJames (talk) 18:12, 14 February 2012 (UTC))

DOC Film Institute → Doc Film Institute – Per MOS:TM and MOS:CAPS, "DOC" here is a stylization, not an initialism, so the all-caps form should be normalized. Independent reliable sources and the organization itself render the name "Doc Film Institute". Gfusvh (talk) 14:53, 16 July 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. 1isall (talk | contribs) 15:48, 23 July 2026 (UTC)
- Support. I would also support moving to the unabbreviated name, Documentary Film Institute. pburka (talk) 19:02, 23 July 2026 (UTC)

Doc Film Institute → Documentary Film Institute – Proposing to use the more formal complete name, as suggested in the previous RM discussion (and as found in the opening sentence of the Wikipedia article). The main page of the official website is headlined "Welcome to the Documentary Film Institute", and its opening sentence is "The Documentary Film Institute focuses on projects that ..." — BarrelProof (talk) 17:04, 26 July 2026 (UTC)
