Possible synthesis in sentence about far-right Europeans and Jews
[edit]The sentence stating that “far-right Europeans detested the Jewish people as undesirable foreigners from Palestine” appears to combine multiple ideas that may not be explicitly supported by the cited sources. The Gelbin & Gilman source discusses broader portrayals of Jews as foreign or cosmopolitan, while the Kant citation (“Palestinians living among us”) reflects a specific philosophical characterization. However, neither source appears to directly support the combined claim about “far-right Europeans” viewing Jews as “undesirable foreigners from Palestine.” This may constitute synthesis (WP), as it combines separate ideas into a single generalized statement that is not clearly stated in the sources. Could editors clarify whether a source explicitly supports this wording, or consider revising it for accuracy? ~2026-21433-94 (talk) 05:17, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

Description of suggested change: I propose removing this sentence entirely. It disrupts the flow of the paragraph and introduces a historical comparison that is not clearly explained or contextualized. The claim that far-right Europeans viewed Jews as “undesirable foreigners from Palestine” does not appear to be directly supported by the cited sources and may constitute synthesis (WP:SYNTH). Additionally, the comparison risks implying that Palestinians are foreigners in their own land in a manner analogous to how Jews were portrayed in Europe, which is confusing, potentially misleading, and unnecessary to the paragraph’s scope.

Anti-Palestinian racism → Anti-Palestinian sentiment – I know that Anti-Palestinian sentiment is a redirect, but I believe that "sentiment" is a more neutral term than "racism". Using "sentiment" would also make the article consistent with most, if not all of the pages in Anti-national sentiment. - OpalYosutebito 『talk』 『articles I want to eat』 17:25, 7 May 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. - Oppose per results of previous discussions , Anti-Palestinian racism is the WP:COMMONNAME, in part because systemic/structural racism is a large part of anti-Palestinianism (unlike e.g. anti-German sentiment). There are plenty of other race/ethnicity discrimination pages that don't include the word "sentiment" in the title, including "Anti-Black racism", "Antisemitism", "Racism against Native Americans in the United States", etc. changing the title from the WP:COMMONNAME would be POV, not neutral

- They have used "anti-Palestinian sentiment" only 7 times compared to 32 times for "anti-Palestinian racism". Citing them to support a move is a misrepresentation of their overall usage, which favors the current title by a factor of nearly 5 to 1. Paprikaiser (talk) 06:39, 17 May 2026 (UTC)

- Oppose - As racism is an accurate summation of this article's scope, bigotry towards Palestinians, an ethnonational group, I fail to see how the broader & less defined term of "sentiment" would be appropriate, let alone more neutral then "racism" here. I also question why this article's title should match those that are strictly anti-national in nature. While I understand that consensus can change, as these exact arguments were made in previous discussions over the title, I'm skeptical that there will be much of a different outcome without new arguments. - Butterscotch Beluga (talk) 00:14, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
- Support some move to get WP:CONSISTENCY. If editors want to keep "Anti-Palestinian" as part of the title, then the page should be moved to Anti-Palestinian sentiment, keeping in line with other Anti-national sentiment articles. If editors feel keeping "Racism" as part of the title is more important, then the page should be moved to Racism against Palestinians, keeping in line with other articles such as Racism against African-Americans, Racism against Native Americans in the United States and Racism against Northeast Indians.
- Unless there is some substantial evidence that "Anti-Palestinian racism" is some sort of a uniquely recognizable term (a quick check has led me to believe that it's not) I don't see why Racism against Palestinians wouldn't work. ⹃Maltazarian ᚾparleyinvestigateᛅ 20:40, 14 May 2026 (UTC)
- I'm going to slightly update my response to to clarify that I support Racism against Palestinians over Anti-Palestinian sentiment. ⹃Maltazarian ᚾparleyinvestigateᛅ 07:12, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose: We have multiple results in Google Scholar Racism against Palestinians is real. No need to sugarcoat it. Its WP:COMMONNAME 🐈Cinaroot 03:45, 15 May 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose the current title is the clear WP:COMMONNAME as reflected in academic literature; a quick check on Google Scholar yields 660 results for "Anti-Palestinian racism" compared to just 181 for "Anti-Palestinian sentiment". The option of "sentiment" was already considered and rejected during the previous move discussion six months ago. There is no new evidence presented here to overturn that consensus. Paprikaiser (talk) 06:29, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose but Racism against Palestinians seems slightly better than the current title as it's consistent with other article titles.
