Siddiqui

Siddiqui (Arabic: صدیقی) are a Muslim community, found mainly in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.[1]
It is also an Islamic-based common name in reference to the 1st Rashidun Caliph Abu Bakr who was known as Al-Siddiq, and is claimed by the community to be their ancestor, though the claim is part of the pattern of Ashrafization amongst Indian Muslim communities.[1]
During the rule of Delhi Sultanate people belong to Kayastha community who were into the court services like accountants, Administration, Revenue officers, scribes etc, were converted to Islam who came to be known as siddiqui.
