Pflugerville Independent School District (PFISD) is a public school district founded in 1902 and is based in Pflugerville, Texas (USA). The District encompasses approximately ninety-five square miles and includes all or part of six municipalities including Pflugerville, Austin, Coupland, Hutto, Manor and Round Rock.[2] As of 2013[update] PISD covers 10.7 square miles (28 km2) of land within the City of Austin, making up 3.4% of the city's territory.[3]
In addition to Travis County,[4] it covers parts of Williamson County.[5]
In 2011, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[6] In 2014, the district installed solar panels at 11 of its schools.[7]
