Description of suggested change: Propose adding Vietnam's Special National Site as a heritage designation template. Here's a list of sites that are eligible, published by the Vietnamese government.

Diff:

|SPECIAL NATIONAL SITE OF VIETNAM|VIETNAM SPECIAL NATIONAL SITE = Special National Site of Vietnam
|SPECIAL NATIONAL SITE OF VIETNAM|VIETNAM SPECIAL NATIONAL SITE = #FFE978
|SPECIAL NATIONAL SITE OF VIETNAM|VIETNAM SPECIAL NATIONAL SITE = #FF0000

Question: How many of these sites actually have articles? You have linked to a list but not one on wikipedia... Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 07:03, 3 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Apparently there does exist a list of them on Wikipedia, but only half of the entries actually have articles...
Even then though, there is still a significant amount of them that it should probably warrant its' own designation entry Yaaaaargh! (talk) 10:26, 3 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Please give an example of one article that uses, or could use, Infobox historic site, which which Designation is associated. – Jonesey95 (talk) 01:23, 4 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
This article might be a suitable one Yaaaaargh! (talk) 03:55, 4 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
There is no indication on that page that the site is designated in any way. All you had to do was provide one good example. I am marking this request as answered until there is a demonstrated need for this change. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:40, 4 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Propose adding Historical Site of Antigua and Barbuda. It has 334 historical sites covered (https://www.anbanet.com/antigua/antigua-historical-sites.html), has a list of entries, and has no overly broad locations. It relates to buildings and other small sites in the country and is somewhat similar in scope to the separate National Cultural Heritage of Antigua and Barbuda. It is maintained by the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda and used by the Antiguan government in historical preservation activities. Examples of sites on the list include Betty's Hope, Barbuda's government house, Fort Barrington, Fig Tree Drive, and St. John's Cathedral, and dozens of others.

Code to be removed:

"Historic Site of Antigua and Barbuda" callname from National Cultural Heritage of Antigua and Barbuda.

Code to be added:

|HISTORICAL SITE OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA|HISTORIC SITE OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA|HSAB = Historical Site of Antigua and Barbuda

|HISTORICAL SITE OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA|HISTORIC SITE OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA|HSAB = #0072C6

Code to be added for local significance:

|HISTORICAL SITE OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA|HISTORIC SITE OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA|HSAB = Historical Site of Antigua and Barbuda

|HISTORICAL SITE OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA|HISTORIC SITE OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA|HSAB = #0072C6

Note: Only 17 of these sites have articles on Wikipedia (see Category:Historical Site of Antigua and Barbuda). -MPGuy2824 (talk) 11:51, 17 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
There are more. I’ll get around to adding all sites on the register to the category soon. CROIXtalk 16:24, 17 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Code update

[edit]

I'm planning to improve this template by putting all the data in one page (perhaps in JSON format like Module:Designation/list), and then another lookup table to recognise all the various aliases. This should make the template more efficient and make it easier to maintain.  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:26, 20 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Lookup table now prepared here: Module:Designation/lookup  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 16:10, 20 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
@MSGJ, the update seems to be causing errors for pages that use Module:Designation through Template:Infobox NRHP. Pages like 860–880 Lake Shore Drive and 55 Wall Street are attempting to look up values on Template:Designation/abbreviation but are instead giving "No parameter" errors. Can this be fixed? Epicgenius (talk) 18:39, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
That sounds more like an error on Template:Infobox NRHP because it is trying to call the designation without a parameter. I'll take a look  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:21, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
Hopefully that has fixed it, but that NRHP template is terribly written!  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:10, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
@MSGJ, thanks for going out of your way to take a look. I really appreciate it - I couldn't figure out what exactly was causing the issue. I do agree the NRHP infobox's code is not that great though... Epicgenius (talk) 21:24, 3 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

This project is now more or less complete. If any editors have any requests or suggestions on how to further improve the template, now would be a good time to share!  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:20, 13 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

KONS

  • "bosnia and herzegovina": "kons",

 Completed. P.I. Ellsworth, ed.  welcome!  03:52, 5 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I'm slightly curious why all these aliases are actually needed. Who is really going to type something like ?  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:47, 5 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

I'm a bit concerned about the colour combination. As you can see light blue text on a darker blue background is not easy to see and represents an accessibility barrier  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:57, 5 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

I tried to fix that immediately after creation, but I didn't know how. It should be a lighter blue, I guess, something like Quebec (rpcq). ౪ Santa ౪99° 22:43, 5 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
To be more concrete, #A8BDEC would be more appropriate to replace this dark blue. ౪ Santa ౪99° 22:57, 5 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Slightly better I guess. Comparison below  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:47, 6 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I actually think it's pretty good. This combo is also in use in several other templates as a color scheme for the table entry - it does not affect template itself anyway, right. ౪ Santa ౪99° 13:25, 6 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've updated the template to use A8BDEC but I still think blue on blue is not ideal  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:44, 7 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Description of suggested change: I would like to request the colors for the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places designation be changed from blue to green with white text. This scheme is not used by any other page, and it mirrors the design of the New Hampshire State Historic Markers!

New background color: #005C31 New text color: #FFFFFF

(For reference)

Sorry, I'm pretty terrible with templates and coding and such, so I don't know how to show it without just inserting an image! BakedintheHole (talk) 19:44, 23 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done: according to the page's protection level, you should be able to edit the page yourself. If you seem to be unable to, please reopen the request with further details. Day Creature (talk) 06:22, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Not so  Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:20, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Not done: There is no option for white text. The text color is set by :css('color', 'var(--color-base)') and does not appear to be modifiable. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:11, 24 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
