The Red Line is a rapid transit line of the Doha Metro in Qatar. It runs north-south through Doha, from its southern terminus at Al Wakrah to its northern terminus at Lusail, with a spur serving Hamad International Airport.[1] It was the first line of the system, with the first segment opened on 8 May 2019.[2]

Operation

[edit]

At first, the line was only open from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM Sunday–Thursday.[3] Later, it added weekend hours of 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM on Friday and 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM on Saturday, and also extended the weekday timings to 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM.[4] It now runs on all days except Friday from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and from 2:00 PM to 1:00 AM on Fridays.
