Como Karim (Chomo / Shomo, Kirim) is a Jukunoid language[2] of Taraba State, Nigeria. The language is spoken by two groups of people who refer to themselves as the Kiyu and Ladthu (Nuadhu), respectively.[3]
Background
[edit]Speakers consist of two groups:[4]
- The Karinjo or Karimjo group, who refer to themselves as Kiyu. They reside in the town of Karim Lamido.
- The Como group, who call themselves the Ladthu or la-dhu. They live to the south of the Karim.
Together, these two groups make up the Como Karim people.
