Hunde (Kihunde; also Luhunde, Kobi, Rukobi) is a Great Lakes Bantu language spoken by the Hunde people in Nord-Kivu province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.[3]
Geographic distribution
[edit]It is primarily spoken in the territories of Masisi, Rutshuru,[3] Walikale, Nyiragongo, and Kalahe (in South Kivu Province).[citation needed]
Hunde has significant lexical overlap with Tembo, Nande, Nyanga, Shi, and Lega-Shabunda.[3]
Phonology
[edit]Hunde is a tonal language, with register tone.[4]
