How to improve a draft
You can also browse Wikipedia:Featured articles and Wikipedia:Good articles to find examples of Wikipedia's best writing on topics similar to your proposed article. Improving your odds of a speedy review To improve your odds of a faster review, tag your draft with relevant WikiProject tags using the button below. This will let reviewers know a new draft has been submitted in their area of interest. For instance, if you wrote about a female astronomer, you would want to add the Biography, Astronomy, and Women scientists tags. Editor resources

Comment: Just stating that he is notable without providing evidence of a pass of WP:NPROF is not helpful. An h-factor of 30 is not high enough yet. Please don't keep submitting without a definitive demonstration of notability. Ldm1954 (talk) 11:23, 2 September 2026 (UTC)
Comment: It is too soon. He has made a good start to his career, but we require much more for notability in the English Wikipedia than those in other languages. Please note that being a guest lecturer does not contribute substantially to notability, and neither does service. Please wait 3-5 years. Ldm1954 (talk) 12:00, 1 September 2026 (UTC)
Denis Sabirov (born March 5, 1984, Magnitogorsk) is a Russian theoretical chemist who serves as the Director of the Institute of Petrochemistry and Catalysis of the Russian Academy of Sciences. A Doctor of Chemical Sciences, he is known for his contributions to the chemical informatics of carbon nanomaterials and theoretical astrochemistry. In 2026, he was appointed to the Higher Attestation Commission, the main national governmental body overseeing the award of advanced academic degrees in Russia
Academic background and career
[edit]Sabirov graduated with honors from the Magnitogorsk State Technical University (2006). He completed his postgraduate studies at the Bashkir State University in 2009, defending a Candidate of Sciences thesis on the reaction mechanism of fullerene ozonolysis.
In 2017, he received the highest academic degree of Doctor of Chemical Sciences (Doctor Habilitatus) from Moscow State University, presenting a dissertation on the theoretical modeling of fullerene polarizability.
Sabirov joined the Institute of Petrochemistry and Catalysis in Ufa in 2006, rising from a research intern to Chief Research Associate and Head of the Laboratory of Mathematical Chemistry. In May 2021, he was elected and appointed Director of the Institute. In 2022, he was elected Professor of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Scientific contributions and recognition
[edit]Sabirov developed a widely recognized theoretical methodology to evaluate the molecular polarizability of complex carbon nanostructures by integrating additive schemes with density functional theory. His work established foundational structure–polarizability dependencies for functionalized fullerenes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
In astrochemistry, Sabirov demonstrated that the interstellar abundance of carbonaceous molecules correlates with their mean polarizability..[1]. He computationally predicted that helicenes (chiral aromatic molecules) could form within the circumstellar envelopes of red giant stars, a prediction later validated by independent laboratory replication experiments[2]. His recent work in digital chemistry utilizes information entropy as a numerical descriptor to quantify changes in molecular complexity during chemical reactions[3].
As of 2026, Sabirov holds an international h-index of 30, with his research widely cited in the fields of physical chemistry and carbon nanomaterials.[4]
His international recognition includes invitations as a guest lecturer at the Institut des Sciences Moléculaires d'Orsay[5], Université Paris Cité (France)[6], and the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (Spain)[7].
