By 2016, Al Jazeera Telecom had established active internet coverage across 14 different Iraqi governorates, including major population centers like Basra, Nineveh, Najaf, Maysan, and Diyala.
In January 2022, the Iraqi Ministry of Communications and the State Company for Communications and Informatics (ITPC) hired Al Jazeera Telecom to build, operate, and market a new Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network in the Al-Rusafa district of Baghdad. The initial phase of this government project was designed to supply 285,000 optical internet lines to the area. As part of this contract, the company also took over the operation of 116,000 existing optical lines in neighborhoods like Sadr City and Zayouna, while adding new features like IPTV and audio-visual content services for subscribers.[1]

For businesses, the company sets up private intranet networks, hosts secure databases, and installs smart device trackers for commercial vehicle fleets.
Beyond providing the internet itself, Al Jazeera Telecom works as a civil engineering contractor. They manufacture the heavy steel telecommunications towers used for wireless internet and pour the concrete foundations needed to hold them. Because the local electrical grid in Iraq suffers from frequent power outages, the company also designs and installs alternative energy solutions—such as solar panels and high-capacity battery backup systems—so their internet towers can stay online when city power goes down.
Subscribers can manage their router settings, pay bills, and track their daily bandwidth usage through a mobile application provided by the company.[3]
