Catasetum fuchsii is a species of orchid. It is found in Bolivia and the Brazillian states of Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Toncantins, and Pará specifically in dry forests and savannahs.[1] The plant is a medium sized hot to warm pseudobulbeous epiphyte with clustered, slightly compressed, fusiform, 18 cm (7.1 in) long and 3.8 cm (1.5 in) wide pseudobulbs enveloped completely by dry leaf sheaths and carrying to 7, linear-oblanceolate, medium green, plicate, 3 prominent veined, to 40 cm (16 in) long and 8.5 cm (3.3 in) wide leaves.[2][1] Its flowers blooming season is summer to fall.[3] The flowers are usually a dirty white color with either pink or purple starting from the middle of the flower and fading away in the edge of its petals. It also may have reddish spots.[4]No subspecies are listed in the Catalogue of Life.
Like other types of orchid, Catasetum fuchsii is a sun loving plant that needs around 45000 lux and 50% shade.[1] It usually thrives in hot to warm conditions (around 18 °C (64 °F)).[1][5]
