Bandaru Ratnasabhapathi was an Indian politician who represented the Rajampet Assembly constituency in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He was elected from Rajampet in 1967 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election and 1972 as a candidate of the Swatantra Party. He later represented Rajampet as a member of the Telugu Desam Party after winning the 1985 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.[1][2]

Political career

Ratnasabhapathi was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Rajampet in the 1967 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election.

In the 1972 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, he contested from Rajampet as a Swatantra Party candidate. He received 27,619 votes and defeated independent candidate Konduru Prabhavathamma, who received 25,721 votes.[3]

Ratnasabhapathi contested the constituency again in the 1978 election as an independent candidate. He received 27,032 votes and finished second to Konduru Prabhavathamma of the Indian National Congress.[4]

In the 1983 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, he contested Rajampet as a Telugu Desam Party candidate. He received 40,963 votes, while Konduru Prabhavathamma received 41,466 votes.[5]

Ratnasabhapathi again contested from Rajampet as a Telugu Desam Party candidate in the 1985 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election. He received 46,568 votes and defeated Indian National Congress candidate Kasireddi Madan Mohan Reddy, who received 41,234 votes.[6]

Ratnasabhapathi contested several Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections from Rajampet. He was elected from the constituency in 1967, 1972 and 1985.[7] His political affiliations during his electoral career included independent candidacy, the Swatantra Party and the Telugu Desam Party.
