Colin G. Maggs
Colin Gordon Maggs (born 1932)[1] is a railway historian, author and retired teacher. His books are generally about the history of rail transport in Great Britain, particularly those in the South West England.
Professional career
[edit]He trained for teaching at Westminster College, Oxford, Horseferry Road, London SW, from 1952 to 1954.[2] He became the deputy headmaster of Batheaston Church of England school in 1967. He still lives in the area in Bath, Somerset.[1]
Railway historian
[edit]He was awarded an MBE in 1993 for services to railway history and an honorary MA from the University of Bath in 1995.[3]
